New Music By Me

After a year of solitary and obsessive tracking, mixing, tape bouncing and mastering...

MY EP IS FINALLY DONE!!!

This EP is the product of my singularly unhealthy interest in 80s detritus, which I know is cool and whatnot at the moment, but is still a totally sincere and personal pursuit for me. The music is my formative youth re-imagined and redefined in the present. Using a tank-sized PC and a Tascam 246 4-track tape recorder, I've attempted to capture the sounds of Tears for Fears, Rush, Hall and Oates and Tangerine Dream as they echo in my memory and fingers. At the same time, my baby son is falling asleep to the occasionally static-interrupted sounds of Caribou and M83 playing on a local college radio station. I hear the music in the in the kitchen while I do the morning dishes.

You can stream the EP on MySpace or directly download it below (give about 20 seconds after you click on the link and a zip file will begin downloading):

Absolutely love the Real Geniuses quote at the start of science, but where is the Utopia quote from? I've heard the saying, but can't spot the movie.
